까치와 호랑이
한국인에게 호랑이는 사람을 해치고 잡아가는 두려운 존재이자 산신같은 신적인 존재이면서 반대로 쾌활하고 멍청하기도 한 인간적인 존재이기도 하다. 무서운 존재에 대한 반감을 직접 표출하기보다는 해학과 풍자를 통해서 은유적으로 나타내는 지혜를 발휘했다. 또한 이 그림은 액운을 막고 좋은 일만 생기라는 의미를 담아 집안에 한시적으로 붙여놓았다.
In Korea, tigers are portrayed as fearful creatures that harm and prey on people or sacred beings like mountain gods. But it can also be seen as a cheerful and foolish being like humans. The folktale writers showed their wisdom to metaphorically express their dislike for scary creatures through humor and satire rather than directly expressing their hostility towards them. In addition, this painting was temporarily hung in the house because it contained the meaning of preventing bad luck and longing for good things to happen.
