We expressed Korean culture through 14 kinds of Korean consonants and illustrations related to these consonants.

SWING RUNNING (그네뛰기)
It is a traditional recreation activity that young women enjoy swinging in Dano in May. The swing running is a typical and representative activity in Dano. It is said that the women wearing colorful hanbok and swinging were like a scenic picture.

FARMER (농부)
Korea has four distinct seasons and is suitable for farming. Grain became the center of Korean food culture and steamed rice and side dishes formed a unique form of Korean food.

DANCHEONG(단청)
It is a drawing pattern on wooden buildings by using five colors (i.e., blue, red, yellow, white, and black) Dancheong, which decorates buildings beautifully, contains various symbols according to the pattern.

From the ancient time, the orchid stands for the personality of a man with virtue and knowledge. The orchid, which symbolizes the fidelity and loyalty of Seonbi, represents a typical virtue, which Seonbi tried to protect.

It is the personified name of hanji, writing brush, inkstone, and ink stick. It means the friends of a Seonbi. It shows that a Seonbi respected these four essential tools for writing and painting and referred to them as friends.

A Seonbi means a person with a great personality. A Seonbi is a moral and intellectual person. The spirit of a Seonbi is the virtue of intellectuals in the ancient Korea.

It is one of representative folk games of Korea. It throws four wooden Yut sticks. Men and women of all ages can enjoy this game together.

Jeju Island is the largest island of South Korea located at the south of Korean Peninsula. Many tourists visit the island every year due to its beautiful natural scenery. The island has been famous for its rich wind, stone, and women.

A lantern wrapped up by the red and blue paper is called Cheongsachorong. It has been mainly used to light the way of the bride riding in a palanquin during the wedding ceremony of the Joseon Dynasty.

It is a unique folk culture that has been mainly done by farmers. It dances and sings while playing buk, janggu, jing, and napal. This play intended to turn tough labor into pleasant and lively work.

HAMJINABI(함진아비)
The wooden box containing the items necessary for the wedding ceremony is called ‘Ham’. In Korea, the groom sent a messenger with carrying the ‘Ham’, called Hamjinabi, to the bride's home in the night before the marriage. It is a tradition that the bride’s family treats the Hamjinabi with rice cake and wine.
